Frequently asked questions
Is Canada Tender Match a government website?
No. Canada Tender Match is an independent commercial service and is not affiliated with any government or procurement authority.
Does Canada Tender Match cover every Canadian tender?
No. Coverage depends on approved integrated sources. Current automatic live sources are listed on the Data Sources page. Sources with unclear or incompatible commercial automation terms are not automatically collected. For non-integrated sources, the Official Tender Portals directory links to the authoritative site and paid tender plans can privately score a user-entered opportunity with External Tender Check.
What is Contract Intelligence?
It is a separate searchable research product built from approved official public data about upcoming projects, award notices and contract history. It can help identify future demand, previous successful vendors, buyer history, published-value ranges and possible renewal/recompete timing. These records are not presented as open tenders. Dates labelled as possible renewals are estimates unless the official record publishes an expiry or re-tender date.
What if Canada Tender Match does not automatically monitor my province or portal?
Use the Official Tender Portals directory on the Data Sources page to open the authoritative procurement site. If you find a relevant opportunity, Solo, Pro and Complete customers can use External Tender Check to enter the public tender details, receive a private profile match score and keep the opportunity in the Pursuit Pipeline, Tasks and Bid Calendar. Canada Tender Match does not automatically scrape the external portal as part of this feature.
How quickly are live tenders checked?
CanadaBuys is typically checked about every 2 hours, Toronto about every 4 hours, SEAO and Yukon about every 6 hours, and the local Nova Scotia TONS mailbox about every 15 minutes. TONS timing still depends on Nova Scotia sending and successfully delivering the notification email, and TONS is forward-only rather than a historical backfill. A completed-month SEAO export is also used as a low-frequency reconciliation for longer-open Québec notices. Actual availability still depends on when the official source publishes or updates the notice.
Why is Winnipeg not a current automatic source anymore?
The City of Winnipeg's open dataset remains reusable as historical information, but the City moved new open bid opportunities to MERX effective March 1, 2025. Canada Tender Match therefore no longer represents the old dataset as current live coverage.
Does a high match score mean I qualify?
No. A match score only indicates how closely our software believes a listing resembles your profile. You must verify all eligibility and submission requirements with the issuing authority.
Is there a free trial or free account?
Yes. Live tender records require a verified account, but you can create a Free account with your name and email and no credit card. Introductory tender-search access lasts until the earlier of 14 days after email verification or 40 meaningful searches. An upgrade offer may appear after 7 days or 15 meaningful searches. The Free account does not automatically bill you or convert to a paid subscription.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Sign in, open Account & Billing, then choose Manage Billing & Subscription. Stripe’s secure Customer Portal lets the organization owner update payment details, view invoices, change plans or cancel future renewal. Normal cancellation stops the next renewal and paid access remains available through the end of the current paid period. Cancellation does not itself refund the current period; see the Refund Policy for details.
Does Canada Tender Match store my credit-card number?
No. Subscription checkout and payment management use Stripe-hosted interfaces. Canada Tender Match receives the customer and subscription identifiers/status needed to administer access but does not intend to store complete payment-card numbers or card security codes.
Can I download a backup of my information?
Yes. Signed-in users can open Account & Billing and choose Export My Data to download their profile and customer-created workspace information for their records. Security logs, passwords and payment-card details are not included.
Do I pay extra for more provinces?
No. Each paid plan includes the sources approved for that product. Coverage depth varies by jurisdiction; there are no province-by-province add-ons.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly billing?
Yes. Paid organization owners can open Account & Billing, choose Change Plan / Manage Subscription, and use the secure Stripe portal to view eligible monthly and yearly options. Stripe handles the billing change and any applicable proration.
What happens if I move back to Free?
Your paid subscription remains fully active through the end of the period you already purchased. Free timers, counters and paywalls do not apply while paid access is active. When paid access actually ends, the Free-account rules apply. If the introductory Free-search allowance has already been exhausted by account age or prior Free usage, live tender search may be paywalled immediately, but your supported customer-created account data is retained so you can resume if you subscribe again.
Can I buy Contract Intelligence by itself?
Yes. Contract Intelligence is a standalone one-user research subscription. Complete combines it with the Pro tender workspace and unlimited organization team access. Existing paid customers change to the appropriate plan in Stripe’s secure portal rather than creating a second recurring subscription.
How does the Complete upgrade work?
Complete is one combined subscription with one renewal date. If you move from Solo, Pro or Contract Intelligence, Stripe applies any applicable proration and keeps the billing relationship in the same account. The exact charge and next renewal date are shown in Stripe before you confirm.
What is Bid Fit Assessment?
Bid Fit Assessment is a preliminary screening tool that scores capability fit, geography, timeline, procurement stage and common requirement signals found in the imported tender text. It is not a compliance review and cannot see every attachment, addendum or mandatory clause. Always review the complete official solicitation before deciding to bid.
Why do paid tender plans receive a weekly monitoring report even when there are no new matches?
The report shows that Canada Tender Match is still checking approved sources and summarizes recent matching activity. A zero-match week means no newly imported or updated opportunity cleared your profile's relevance threshold during that period; it does not mean monitoring stopped.
Can I stop Canada Tender Match emails without signing in?
Yes. Non-essential tender, research, monitoring and product emails include a signed one-click unsubscribe link. You can also manage email preferences while signed in. Essential security, billing or account-administration messages may still be sent when reasonably necessary.
Who owns the notes and bid information I put into the workspace?
You retain ownership of Customer Content you submit. Canada Tender Match uses that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure and support the Service, subject to the Terms and Privacy Policy. Authorized members of a Pro or Complete organization may be able to see shared workspace content.
What is the $149 Pro retention offer?
Eligible Pro Monthly organizations that are considering cancellation may be offered Pro for $149 CAD for their next 12 months. The promotional annual term starts after the current paid month ends. After that promotional year, the subscription continues at the regular annual rate then in effect unless cancelled beforehand. The offer is limited to one redemption per organization.
