Data Sources & Official Tender Portals
Canada Tender Match uses a fail-closed source policy: a source is not scheduled automatically until its commercial reuse and access method have been reviewed. When a source is not integrated, we can still point you to the official procurement portal and let paid tender-workspace customers bring an opportunity back for a private match check.
Approved automatic live tender sources
| Source | Coverage | Typical refresh | Reuse basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| CanadaBuys tender notices | Federal government organizations | ~2 hours | Government of Canada machine-readable tender data · Open Government Licence — Canada |
| SEAO / Données Québec | Québec public-sector procurement represented in the official SEAO open dataset | Latest weekly feed ~6 hours + gradual backfill + monthly reconciliation | Données Québec official SEAO dataset · CC BY 4.0 |
| City of Toronto Open Solicitations | City of Toronto | ~4 hours | City of Toronto Open Data · Open Government Licence — Toronto |
| Government of Yukon Open Tenders | Government of Yukon open tenders | ~6 hours | Official Government of Yukon Open Data catalog resource · Open Government Licence — Yukon |
| Nova Scotia Tender Opportunities Notification Service (TONS) | New Nova Scotia Procurement Portal tender notices received after CTM enrolled in TONS | Mailbox checked ~15 minutes | Official Nova Scotia Procurement Portal notification service; Nova Scotia Procurement confirmed in writing that reuse is not prohibited. No portal scraping. |
CanadaBuys downloadable tender files used by this service are federal data. A federal tender may have delivery locations elsewhere in Canada, but Canada Tender Match does not represent that as complete provincial or municipal coverage. Nova Scotia TONS is forward-only notification coverage: it supplies new notices that match CTM's selected categories after enrollment, not a historical backfill, and email delivery is not guaranteed.
Official Canadian tender portals
Use this directory for jurisdictions that are not fully integrated. The external portal opens in a new tab. If you find something relevant there, return to Canada Tender Match and use External Tender Check to score and manage it privately.

What happens when you bring a tender back?
You enter the opportunity details yourself. CTM does not automatically scrape the external portal from the link. The entered information stays in your private workspace and is compared with your business profile to produce a decision-support match score, reasons and warnings. Always return to the official portal to verify documents, amendments, eligibility and deadlines.

| Source | Information | Automation | Reuse basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| CanadaBuys Award Notices | Published federal award notices, successful suppliers and values where available | Automatic | Open Government Licence — Canada |
| CanadaBuys Contract History | Federal contract history and amendments | Automatic | Open Government Licence — Canada |
| SEAO / Données Québec | Award information contained in the official OCDS releases | Automatic alongside SEAO refreshes | CC BY 4.0 |
| Toronto Capital Projects Pipeline | Advance visibility into City capital projects planned for competitive procurement | Automatic | Open Government Licence — Toronto |
| Nova Scotia Awarded Public Tenders | Awarded vendor and amount for government/public-sector tenders | Automatic | Nova Scotia Open Government Licence |
| City of Vancouver Awarded Contracts | Awarded bids, vendors and published values | Automatic | Open Government Licence — Vancouver |
Contract Intelligence is research context. Upcoming pipeline items are forecasts and do not guarantee that a solicitation will be issued. Award/contract records are not open tender opportunities, and renewal/recompete dates are estimates unless the source publishes an official date.
Verified reusable references not yet automated
Some official datasets have a compatible open-data licence but do not yet have a stable machine-readable ingestion route validated for this service. Examples include the Yukon Public Contract Registry and the Northwest Territories Contracts Report. They stay out of automatic Contract Intelligence imports until the technical route is validated.
Historical-only source
City of Winnipeg Bid Opportunities Open Data: the historical dataset remains under the Winnipeg open-data licence, but the City states that new open bid opportunities moved to MERX effective March 1, 2025. Canada Tender Match therefore does not use that old dataset as current live coverage.
Held or blocked direct-source routes
Direct automated collection remains off for routes whose commercial reuse or automation basis is unclear or incompatible. Nova Scotia's direct Procurement Portal/browser collector remains disabled even though official TONS notifications are integrated. Other held routes include generic direct bids&tenders collectors, Vancouver's regular Supplier Portal HTML route, Alberta Purchasing Connection while permission is pending, BC Bid, SaskTenders, the Ontario Tenders Portal, NBON, Nunavut direct HTML, the NWT session/HTML route and Charlottetown direct HTML. These can be reconsidered if an approved API/open-data route or compatible written permission is documented.
Attribution
Government and third-party source data remains subject to its applicable licence, permission or reuse basis and belongs to its respective source. Canada Tender Match adds independent software, organization, matching and research features. The Yukon open-tender integration contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence — Yukon. Nova Scotia live notices are received through the official Tender Opportunities Notification Service (TONS); CTM stores a limited set of public notice metadata and links back to the official notice. Official issuing sources remain authoritative.
Source status can change when a publisher changes its licence, technical delivery method or terms. Canada Tender Match may place a connector on hold rather than continue uncertain automation.
